Tatul

The complex consists of an ancient pagan temple and a medieval fortress. The central and highest place of the rocky peak, holds а grave with an east-west orientation, placed  in massive rock , carved like a truncated pyramid. On the south side of the magnificent rock is carved a similar tomb, located in the hemispherical recess. The niche is covered with rock-arched stone vault. Leads to the two graves carved into the rocks ceremonial staircase, consisting of eight steps. Near Tatul there was discovered a  statuette of a naked god, a man, upright and leaning with one hand on the lyre, with the other hand holding a plektron - something like a pen, which is playing. The statuette is dated from the II - III century - the Roman era. They found a coin dating from the same age. The statue probably depicts Orpheus himself.

The archaeological complex consists of four main parts, representing the perfect combination of the Neolithic:
- A powerful fortress wall.
- Acropolis, built of huge stone blocks, situated in the highest part of the hill.
- Palace - carved in the rocks and covering an area of 10 000 sq. m.
- North and south-suburbs-forming rocks in the small streets, buildings and temples

Alexander Tomb

The Alexander tomb was discovered in 2001 by the Bulgarian archaeologist Georgi Kitov near the village Aleksandrovo in the District of Haskovo.Dating back to 4 BC it is suggested to belong to a Thracian king or noble aristocrat. Articles related to Thracian burial ceremony and religious beliefs about the afterlife of the elite person were robbed, but the tomb is impressive with its uniquely designed wall-drawings.The tomb has a 10-meter corridor, a vestibule and a round hive – like burial chamber. In the chamber were found the remains of ritually destroyed bed.In Aleksandrovo two friezes are inscribed. In the upper frieze are depicted hunting scenes (the hunting of wild boar and deer), and at the bottom - a feast. Both scenes are likely to relate to the other world, usually in recreating the tombs. It is known that the ideas about the afterlife of the aristocratic doctrine of the Thracians exist for "hunting eternal and perpetual feasting and drunkenness”, which on its side deified heroes (antropodemoni).
